new bike
the plan was to get aiden a new bike.
we did that.
we also ended up getting ronin a new bike.
when we were at the bike shop, ronin got on the 'hotwalk' and started to take off through the store. so... since he was interested (and not interested in the target brand kick bike), we threw down for it. it's gotten him interested in biking, so we were all for it.
here's a video of him and his brother riding around the alley at 8pm before heading to bed.
the video is dark. i'll have to shoot some more during the day.

Happy Birthday Ronin.
on your birthday,
mom put out a fire. yes, that's right, a fire. the neighbor's porch column caught on fire (probably due to a smoldering cigarette butt). the lesson here. don't smoke. ronin - if you don't smoke by the age of 18, a C-note is in it for you. back to the fire. your mom emptied the fire extinguisher and then hooked up the hose and sprayed water on the fire until the firemen came. then after the firemen put out the fire, you got your picture taken with two of the gentlemen.
our friends becky, evan, ari, deanna, hannah and louisa, came over for spaghetti and meatballs and strawberry cake.
we lit your candle twice. the first time you blew it out; the second time aiden and evan blew it out.

1.39 miles on a #320 Classic Tiny Trike
this past saturday we took the kids to home depot for the monthly kids workshop. being such a nice morning, we all decided to ride our bikes. yes, this included ronin. ronin's got a #320 classic tiny trike...
and he rode it all the way to home depot from our house. 1.39 miles. wouldn't ride in the bike trailer... and wouldn't even let it go when i picked him up to cross the last street before getting to the home depot parking lot.
on the trip to noodles for lunch, we put him in the trailer, and fell asleep about 1/2 block outta home depot.
